Lost and Jack and OMG!

OK, I admit it. I normally don't like the Jack-centric episodes on Lost. He comes across as whiny, he grates, and just...ugh.

But this week - it just seemed different. I believed his love for Kate. I believed that he was conflicted in his feelings for Juliet. And I believed that his one desire on the island was to get everyone to safety.

I mean, how wonderful was it to see him reference the premiere episode where Kate was his "nurse?" But Juliet - damn, that woman is hardcore.

This is just further proof that Lost is having an amazing fourth season. Just when I think that BSG is the better show, the writers on Lost answer in-kind.

In other news, Jin...no slouch! And I continue to love Bernard and Rose more than I can say.

Also..Claire? Dad? OMG!!! WTF happened to her?!?!?

This episode was so well done. Nice!

Lost Breeds Confusion

In the last few weeks on Lost, we've seen a lot more confusion over various timelines - in other words, it's been a real...well, you know.

First we watch Desmond dealing with 2 personalities (both of which are him in different time periods - the wrong ones) as he struggles to deal with some rift in the time-space continuum near the island. Fortunately he's able to rectify the situation with a desperate call to Penny. Loving her, by the way.

Meanwhile, we discover that things on the freighter are anything but peachy, considering swimming with chains is a favored activity. Of course the big reveal is that Michael is there! Does he really think he is someone else? Or is he Ben's spy on the boat? Or both?

Not to mention, Juliet was totally doing it with Goodwin. And Ben has...possessiveness issues.

Then we had a poignant episode as we follow Sun giving birth in the future while she decides her own fate in the present. She has the baby, and Hurley comes to visit. But while we think the whole time Jin is rushing to the hospital to see her, in fact he was going to see another patient, and has "only been married 2 months." Just when you wonder if he somehow left Sun in the flash-forward, you learn that in fact he has died (no!), as Hurley and Sun go to visit his grave. So in fact, it must have been a flash-back layered over the flash-forward, while my brain oozed out of my ear.

Oh, and Juliet? That was cold! Dang, beeyotch!

All in all, this was my favorite Sun/Jin episode, and one of my all-time favorites, period. The layered time periods was a clever ruse, and the acting was superb. If Yunjin Kim doesn't get an Emmy nod this season, I'm going to pull a Juliet on the voters!

Anywho, if you've been neglecting Lost this season, you are totally missing out. It's truly entered a renaissance, and I am on the edge of my seat to see what's been happening with Michael. And Walt!

Oh, and am I the only one dying to find out what happened to Claire that makes Kate end up with Aaron in the future?

Tyra Eats the Big Apple

The word on the streets (of Hollywood, that is) heralds that the writers' strike may finally be coming to an end. Not that we'll have much to salvage in the current TV season, but most importantly it means that Lost can keep progressing! After this past week's accelerated introduction of the Chopper Crew, can you imagine it cutting off after 8 episodes? The horror!

But in the meantime, reality television plows on, filling in the void. The best part of that is that Top Model is back on the 20th! And the show has returned to its roots in New York City. Hollah!

Don't click the link if you don't want to be spoiled as to who the starting pool of bitches will be, but I did notice one key face. Remember tough girl and Grace Jones doppelganger Marvita from the auditions last season? Well it appears she has returned a'la Jaslene to take a crack at it again. It is definitely a shame she was cut last time, as we were left with the #1 nimrod, Mila.

In the meantime, you can enjoy clip shows that help us revisit all the most choice Top Model moments. Remember how crazy Monique was about food in the house and using the phone? Or how crazy and unreasonable Bre became about her damn granola bars? And that Joanie was the most awesomest ever?

Of course they didn't mention Jade in part 1 last week, so you know she's getting her own big highlight in part 2. Because she was the craziest beeyotch ever. Ah, memories!

The Oceanic 6

Lost is back! What - have I not mentioned that lately?

Anywho, the premiere got off to a rollicking start, and the best part is that for once a season wasn't Jack-centric for the first episode! Yep, this time it was focused on Hurley, dude. He certainly was screaming a lot, wasn't he? And as usual, we saw some interesting things, and were left with new questions.

  1. The flash-forward was in full effect right away, which was cool. Now that we have 3 different time lines going on, I think my brain will implode if we see all of them in one episode. Talk about a mindfuck!
  2. Hurley screamed that he was one of the "Oceanic 6!" We know that Jack and Kate are two of them - who are the other 3? I assume there's at least one more male (Kate's quote in the season 3 finale - "I have to go home, he'll wonder where I am."). Any bets?
  3. Hurley was also being asked a few times if "they were still alive." What is the secret about the island that the Oceanic 6 don't want people to know about? That more than 6 actually survived?
  4. Was Hurley just hallucinating, or was that somehow actually Charlie visiting him through some crazy time-space continuum thing?
  5. Now Hurley has also seen Jacob's shack. Whose eye was that? I think it was Locke's.
  6. Naomi's not dead! Oh wait, yes she is.
  7. So now we have two camps - those following Jack to an uncertain future with the "freighter folk" and those who are heeding the warnings of Locke and Charlie. Although I get that Rose feels a certain devotion to Jack, isn't it surprising she wants to leave the island that has healed her?
It sounds like next week's episode will be even juicier, so I can't wait!

Here's my question of the week, as my brain is a little fried from all the twists and turns. Setting aside Ben, Alex, Alex's boyfriend and Juliet who are with the Losties, how many of the Others are left, and are any of them people we would remember? Where are they, and what are they doing? Oh - and is Mikhail still alive?

In other news, I did not like Eli Stone. Lame.

Coming Attractions

Sometimes when I'm stopping by IMDB, I go on a little link-to-link journey and it's interesting where it ends up. When I just checked the other day, I was delighted at what I found.

At last one of my favorite book series is being turned into a film! It's The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith, a lovely "mystery" series in Botswana that's really more about the curiosities of peoples' personalities.

It looks like this will be a TV movie, first released on the BBC. Interestingly, the lead character (Precious Ramotswe) will be played by singer Jill Scott (pictured here with the author). But what is AWESOME is that my favorite character, Grace Makutsi will be played by my best friend, Anika Noni Rose, late of Dreamgirls! Woot! I can hardly wait.

Oh, and in case you've been living under a rock - Lost premieres tomorrow! So what if it's only going to be 8 episodes in a row - I just want to see it!

Lost is Found

I'm sure by now you've heard about the writer's strike. (Read what this blogger has to say if you need more information.) And among the shows that will be in trouble is Lost.

But perhaps this announcement is something that will tide us over until what may be a mini-season in February?

Falling Down For Fall TV

Woot! It's almost time for the fall TV season! And thanks to Entertainment Weekly's fall TV preview, I've decided on my tentative plan for what I'll be watching. As is my custom, I'll be trying out a few new shows to see if I can discover a new obsession. That's what I did in the cases of Heroes and Lost, and look at them now!

So here it is, my plan. But I'll keep an open mind, you never know what buzz might sway my mind!

SUNDAY

Still a virtual wasteland, at least I can count on The Simpsons and King of the Hill for laughs. But I will need to try out Viva Laughlin. At first I thought it was just some Vegas show featuring occasional appearances by Hugh Jackman. But it turns out, it's a MUSICAL. It will be either awesome or tragic. I can hardly wait to find out which. The real question is when the next season of The Amazing Race will start?

MONDAY

Starting the night will be How I Met Your Mother. And thank you, EW for the big spread highlighting the show! Man, it's so good. At 8:30, I'm going to give the CW's Aliens in America a spin. It sounds like an interesting take on the classic fish out of water genre - a Pakistani kid gets plopped down into a midwest school. After that, of course we'll be watching Heroes - anxious to see what's happening with Hiro in feudal Japan!

TUESDAY

Potentially a Netflix night, but I do want to test drive the CW's new show, Reaper. A guy finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil. Now he has to catch escapees from hell. Weird, wild fun, right? Sure, it may have some icky bad guys, but I can't imagine it would be any scarier than Charmed or Buffy. In some ways the lead sounds like he's a pseudo-superhero, and you know I dig that.

WEDNESDAY

As usual, the networks insist on cramming all the juicy stuff on one night. Damn you! As much as I'd like to try out ABC's unusual Pushing Daisies or the potential train wreck of CBS's Kid Nation, you know I'll be strutting the catwalk with America's Next Top Model. After that, I will be crossing my fingers that Private Practice is good stuff. You know I love me some Kate Walsh, and now they have Audra McDonald, whom I adore. And although we must wait until February, Lost will be there. (Although there is a rumor about the show being relocated to Sunday, which is fine by me.) Fortunately, we should have Project Runway coming up in October, which will make life oh-so-sweet.

THURSDAY

Not much on this night, but I'll be alternating between Grey's Anatomy and The Office/Scrubs block. (Watching the latter when the former is in reruns, or if it gets sucky.) The bad news is that NBC is pulling its shows from iTunes, so no more downloading episodes of The Office or Battlestar Galactica (NBC owns the SciFi channel)! It's as if NBC is determined to have me hate them even more. It almost makes me want to avoid My Name Is Earl!

FRIDAY

If we're at home, it's Netflix all the way.

SATURDAY

In case you missed the memo, the networks no longer air original programming on this night (other than Cops - ick). So go outside and party like it's 1999. (Or watch a Netflix movie.)

And that's my plan. Looks like my weekly schedule won't be drastically different than last season, other than a potential show for Tuesdays. Thank goodness we started our Netflix subscription - it's really made life more enjoyable!

A Moment of Greatness

I was pleasantly surprised with Lost this week.

At first I was thinking, "Oh great, an episode about Charlie. Bo-ring!" But it was actually very pleasant and reminded me some of the reasons he started as a great character on the show.

And so the show began to build as an elegy to the man from Manchester, ready to sacrifice his life for the survivors. Down he goes, ready to find the switch...

...and then, huh? Underwater babes with guns? Wicked!

That was a great ending. I'm definitely ready and excited for the finale. (Just don't kill off Bernard, please.)

Over The River And Through The Woods

So...Lost this week. Can we talk?

I felt very confused because it was like I was watching a different show. What is this program that keeps giving me background and answers?

In all seriousness, we finally got a bit of Ben's background, as well as what happened to the Dharma Initiative. We learned that the man who died in the VW van was Ben's father, Roger. And Locke got to meet Jacob. Well, sort of.

Meanwhile, back at the beach, Juliet was exposed. Well, sort of.

As is the tradition of Lost, we are still left with a number of questions as we barrel towards the finale:

1. What ever happened to Ben's childhood girlfriend?

2. Is it possible that Richard (played by Nestor Carbonell, who has come a long way since Suddenly Susan - Brooke Shields must be so proud) could still look the same today as he did when Ben was a child?

3. Who are the natives, and how do they speak such good English? Are they somehow related to the Black Rock?

4. What exactly is Jacob - a ghost? The smoke monster? And why could Locke hear him but not see him, while Ben could see him but not hear him? Or is Ben lying as usual?

5. Why on earth would Ben shoot Locke - jealousy? Revenge? And can John survive it? (My guess is yes.) And did Ben bring his own gun, or did he somehow take the one John had? Speaking of which - why did Alex bring John a gun in the first place? Has she ever seen Jacob?

6. Who's side is Juliet really on? Or is she playing both sides against each other?

7. What does Jack know that he hasn't told everyone else? And why is he still acting like such an arrogant prick?

All this and more - next week!

The Sunshine Of My Life

At last, we have a great flasback episode of Lost focusing on my darling, Sun! In my opinion, it was the best one for her so far. She kicked all kinds of ass in this one. Yelling in Juliet's face! Standing up to her father, the mobster! Putting a blackmailing hooker in her place!

And did I mention that she looked ridiculously hot the whole time? I think I have to put Yunjin Kim on my conversion list.

Although this was mostly all about Sun, let's also give some mad props to Jin for going all kung fu on the resurrected (?) Russian.

The downside is of course the news that my dear Sun is now marked for death, just like Charlie. If only Juliet could find a cure! But being that she is secretly working for EVIL, that looks unlikely.

Speaking of which, did Juliet imply that Kate might be pregnant also?

Oh, and there was that little tidbit at the end. Major conspiracy? Or did the producers lie to us, and this really is Purgatory Island? Hopefully we'll find out more next week, as Locke returns.

Side note - was it really Italian the pilot was speaking? Anyone know? My first guess was Portugese, the same language spoken by the guys at the station who were working for Penelope.

Getting Lost Again

Remember the first couple seasons of Lost? How they were cool and exciting, and there were big mysteries? And the plot moved forward and you could hardly wait for the next eipsode?

Yeah, it was a long time ago.

Since then we've suffered through overly-drawn out subplots (enough with the bear cages, already), a lack of development for some characters (remember how there was this woman who had a baby?), and one episode so horribly bad we should never speak of it again (one word - tattoos).

Fortunately, it looks like we are FINALLY back in the swing of things. With a few good episodes gearing up recently (those for Juliet and Desmond), this week's episode focusing on Sayid felt like the good ol' days. New questions, plot movement, and an "Oooo!" moment at the end.

My burning questions:

1. Wait, Ms. Klugh could speak Russian? And why would she sacrifice her life?

2. Is it odd that Sayid always seems to be super-smart?

3. Is it odd that Locke always seems to be super-dumb when he follows his "instincts" on blind faith?

4. When, oh when, will we be rid of the dumdum twins?

'Nuff said

Thanks to Stef for passing this on. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Lost and back again

After that (if I can be honest) most disappointing season start for Lost, it's finally back. And the first two episodes have been decent.

First we learned that Juliet hasn't always been an Other. And her speciality is something to do with fertility treatments, including impregnating male mice. Curious, no? And she's basically a prisoner as well. And most importantly, we learned that she looks way better with straight hair.

But the really mind-twister was last week with Desmond's...flashpresent? Is he living his own version of Groundhog Day? Is he really a hero? And how do you just ditch a beautiful woman like Penelope?

Of course the big "Whoa!" came at the end, when we learned that Charlie has the Grim Reaper sniffing over his shoulder. But does the fact that he's escaped death so many times explain his miraculous survival from Ethan hanging him? And more importantly, what if Desmond is wrong? My guess is we'll be watching all season waiting for Charlie to kick the bucket, and instead it will be someone else first. (Please let it be Paulo and what's-her-butt!)

And the odd coincidence of the week - Fionnula Flanagan (the time-space continuum guide or whatever she was) was seen in a movie you might have heard of - The Others. As if that's not enough, that movie also featured one Christopher Eccleston - who's now on that other great show wrapped in mysteries - Heroes!

Why Lost is Still Awesome

I'm certainly not the only person that has expressed the opinion that Lost seems to be slipping a little bit this season. A lot more mystery, and not nearly enough exposition. And for those of us who are less enchanted with the Sawyer-Kate-Jack love triangle, it's been a bit much on "Alcatraz." Not to mention those new characters The Dum-Dum Duo ("Is Eko dead?") Oh, and it annoys me to no end that the Official Lost Podcast hasn't appeared in weeks. Still, I confess there are 5 reasons...

Why Lost is Still Awesome

1. Great characters we know and love. We can still enjoy the complex relationship of Jin and Sun. We enjoy the antics and angst of Hurley. And we have our fantasies about how Claire will smother Charlie in his sleep.

2. Desmond - new, improved and even stranger!

3. Juliet is the best new character on the show since the introduction of not-Henry last season. Best moment of the season so far was her INXS-inspired plea to Jack. She's an enigma but incredibly appealing. Love!

4. Michael is not around whining about Walt. Granted, I'd like them both to come back. But still.

5. Even at its worst, this show is better than 70% of what's on TV today. I believe that our patience will be rewarded.

The lies people tell

Sun is a liar. Or, at least that's what the plot seemed to be focused on in Lost-land this week. Of course, if you followed the plot, it was obvious that she's not the best liar in the world.

Still, I'm relieved to know that Sun did not get wounded. Of course, she's not afraid to wound someone else. Eat that, blonde Other chick!

Of course the far greater mystery this week is the fact that the Others have access to the "outside world." How? And better yet, why?

Question of the week - is Sayid like the WORST strategist ever?

Meanwhile on The Nine, Nick found himself having to lie just to keep his new friends out of jail. Aww - I knew he was a softie at heart. Methinks Kathryn might want to rethink that career in the DA's office. She's a maverick, that one.

Our one tidbit this week is that Felicia was the one who called 911 from inside the bank. Is that how it escalated into a hostage standoff? If she holds herself responsible, that's probably why she has the memory block.

Oh, and Jeremy is a killer. Bad Bailey, bad!

Test these hypotheses tonight

Want to read the latest crazy theories about Lost from Entertainment Weekly? Just click the link above and read in wonder!

WARNING - there are some slight spoilers about tonight's episode in the last theory presented!

April 13, 2006

Just do it

*WARNING - this post contains key information about this week's episode of Lost!*

As I had heard previously, this week we did indeed focus on Rose & Bernard in the land of the Lost. Which made me very happy!

They are just the cutest couple - who happen to be newlyweds! I thought the whole proposal scene was incredibly sweet, with a touch of surprise.

As for the healing aspect, I think this is what the producers were alluding to when they talked about doing an episode on these two for a larger reason. Now Locke's walking doesn't seem to be an isolated incident - Rose's cancer has been halted, and Sun was (we presume) able to get pregnant from Jin.

What I wonder is if this is setting up a big division amongst the "tribe" in a future season - what if there was the opportunity to leave, but some of them didn't want to? Rose & Bernard would stay. I assume Locke would stay. Jin was able to escape Sun's father - would they stay? And on the flip side, we know that Michael wants to go, as does Sawyer.

Jack & Kate being caught in a net - it was almost hot. Except I think Kate is not really sexy at all. Jack is if he keeps his mouth shut. Maybe things would be interesting if Kate didn't hook up with either of them, and went for someone random - maybe the surviving twin?

The return of Michael - good! Not so much because of Michael (meh), but because we might see some action on the Walt-getting-back front. Heck, by the time he returns, the actor will have turned 18 and they'll have to get a replacement like they do on soap operas.

For a new interesting theory, you might enjoy reading this.

Next week there's no show, and a recap show the week after. So stay tuned for May sweeps, because IT JUST GOT INTERESTING!!!

The Ecstasy and the Agony - Part II

On Lost this week, we basically had a long mindfuck in which we are led to wonder if Hurley is crazy, if this entire show is all in his mind, or what. I'm firmly in the belief that it's not just Dallas-revisited. But it was compelling nonetheless.

There were some great guest stars this week, including Evan Handler, who was on the show It's Like, You Know..., but in our hearts will always be Charlotte's husband. I wish he was back to being naked on the couch. We also got to see Bruce Davison, whom some of you may know best as the creepy Senator in the X-Men. But to me he'll always be Charlene's preacher that had the hots for Mary Jo.

We also learned a bit more about The Other Formerly Known As Henry Gale. (Rather than call him TOFKAHG, I'm just going to refer to him as the symbol ~.) So basically we find out that ~ is indeed an Other as I surmised - not at all shocking. He spills that not-bearded leader of the Others is in no way the leader, and ~ is terrified of being killed. Alas, we do not get to see Ana Lucia beat the tar out of him a bit.

Hurley beating the tar out of Sawyer was truly awesome. But Sun and Jin laughing about it in the background was awesome-er.

Although the ending wasn't really sad, per se, it was a bit distressing to learn that Libby was a patient in the loony bin where Hurley was! Who is she really, and what are her motives?

I've received intelligence that next week's episode will feature flashbacks of Rose and Bernard, and if it does, I will cry and be in heaven because they are awesome.

Don't get me started

All right, it's time for a wrap-up for Wednesday night TV. I'm warning you now - this contains detailed information on Top Model, Lost and Top Chef.

*SPOILER ALERT!!!*

If you haven't caught the episode for any of these, then don't read this post until you have! Got it? All the kids that don't want to be spoiled are in their rooms? (And yes, I've put the SNU in his room until he watches Top Chef.) Cool - let's roll!

So I began my evening in the fashion trenches of LA, as the girls prepared for their next challenge. This week began their runway training. "Ms. J" directs them, then puts them in heels and they walk. It's a mother-fucking walk-off! OK, not really. Much strutting ensues. And I don't mean attaching brake parts.

Basically we learn that several of these girls really must not wear heels that often. And as a potential model, you'd think they would like...constantly. Whatever - anyway, basically Kari is awful at it, Gina is of course a freak, Danielle has issues.

Next they head off for their first challenge, where they will walk in a fake runway show for this impish guy that does goth-style crap. Once the girls are all made up like the Corpse Bride, it's revealed that they will each walk with a harnessed hissing cockroach. But it's all relevant because the roaches have been BEDAZZLED. I see. So as long as your insect wears jewelry, it's totally couture. Whatever. I (love to) hate this show.

Is it undead or is it Memorex? You decide!

Anywho, this all boils down to Jade showing off that she's fearless by actually kissing her roach on the runway. Meanwhile Gina has a complete freakout including adolescent screaming, and the designer has to push her out on the runway. So of course Jade wins. She gets to take some of the girls with her to a fashion show. *snore*

For the photo shoot, the girls are all going to be dressed as characters from fairy tales, and then will fall onto a mat, caught halfway by the photographer. This strikes me as a very difficult method of modeling. Especially because of some of the outfits! Ultimately Leslie comes off really well as the Big Bad Wolf (sexy version) as does Jade playing Red Riding Hood (slut version).

At judging panel, the girls have to walk in these incredibly huge platform heels, which is just sadistic. Predictably, many of them fall (Kari in particular), and Danielle falls so bad she sprains a toe. Tyra talks about how scared she was for the girls, and I'm like, "Then don't make them do it, ya stupid bitch!" Seriously, that one competition could have ruined Danielle's chances to win, and that's completely unfair.

Ultimately the final two are Kari and Gina. This is no surprise to me at all, because the editors of Top Model have not mastered the fine art of reality foreshadowing. On the one hand, you want to make sure that the eliminated party features prominently in the show, but on the other hand not so much so that it's painfully obvious. In this case it was obvious in the first 5 minutes, so I actually wans't worried for Ms. Sprained Toe. Kari turns on the waterworks for the judges, but it's too little drama too late, and she's gone. If you want to stick around, it's got to be CONSISTENT drama like loopy Gina. Future models take note.

Over in the world of Lost, I was all happy with a show about my favorite character, Sun. First let me say that Yunjin Kim? Is gorgeous. Constantly gorgeous. Like "I might trade teams" gorgeous. I love her 4evah. The plot was predictably heartwarming and about her pregnancy (she is, by the way).

Also on Lost we discover that Henry Gale is even more creepy, and I'm now firmly convinced he is one of the Others. But any suspense about his "trap" was ruined by the ABC promotions department, which totally showed a ton of Sayid (in the hatch) for next week, so let's just say I'm not worried for the Iraqi heartthrob.

And finally, let's all take a moment to admire Jack with no shirt on. It's been far too long since I've seen that, and I humbly request the producers put more of that in the show. In fact, Jack not talking but just walking around shirtless would be a huge improvement. It's quality of life, people.

Now, I haven't really said much about Top Chef, but I have seen all three episodes. For more detailed info on what's happened thus far, check with my friends Brunette or DC Food Blog. But I felt I had to comment on this episode, because of two glaring problems.

And those problems are two GIANT FLAMING ASSHOLES called Stephen and Tiffani.

Now, Stephen has been a jerk from day one. He's a sommelier, and apparently thinks that this allows him to be an uppity pretentious prick whenever he likes. He constantly talks about how fucking great he is, and how much everyone else sucks his big toe. I kind of shrugged him off, but this week he just became too much. I seriously don't know if I can watch him for another minute, unless it's to yell at the screen.

Meanwhile, bisexual Tiffani has been pretty good so far - her food is good, she's got talent, etc. Yet for this challenge she became so fucking self-righteous, I was out of my head. She refused to "pander to children." Well I got news for you, Ms. High And Mighty Won't Compromise My Cooking Ever. You're on a fucking reality show. These shows are never designed to put you in an average situation. It's all about good TV, which means unusual challenges. If you're so freakin' perfect, then maybe you should have just been shopping your resume around instead of auditioning for this show. And yet, I suspect her foul attitude is precisely why she is not already a top chef. I now hate her with a passion. I will probably keep watching just to see her finally get her just desserts when she gets told to pack up her knives. (Lamest tagline ever.)

Wednesday wrap-up

OK, two quick shows to cover - last night we (finally) had a new episode of Lost, and then the first part of the Project Runway finale.

Lost was freaking me out! All sorts of exciting revelations about Claire, the Others, and many more mysteries. I love how they stepped out of the box by having all the flashbacks be events that took place on the island. So creepy. I think the big question is what Ethan really was injecting Claire with - was it an vaccine? Or something to "enhance" the unborn child that they were planning to steal? DAMN this show is good. If you're not watching it, you need to put your entire life on hold and go rent season 1. Then you can watch reruns of season 2 all summer!

Over on the Runway, the designers went home to "make it work." I was a bit worried how little Chloe was doing, and was actually impressed Santino made something attractive. All around I found it exciting - seeing the last minute details before showing a collection (like model selection, planning hair and make-up, etc.) was cool to me. But this "last challenge" is a doozy. Santino does not look like he can handle it. Danny of course chose Nick, because despite the suit thing, we know that he can sew well. Chloe stole my heart for choosing Diana. It means I get to see my science geek a bit longer (and we do know that she can sew well despite other eccentricities).

Can hardly wait for the big showtime! I'm standing by my predictions which I've said to friends - I'll publish them here. Something disastrous is going to happen to either Danny or Chloe, and that person will come in third. Santino will land solidly in second - he will be very creative, but will go too far as usual. I'm placing my money on Chloe to win - I think she's been set-up through editing all season that way (although I admit on first glance I prefer Daniel's outfits - we'll see once they're all on models).

So what do you think? Who will win and why? Place your bets now!
